An Open Letter to the Members of the National Assembly
on the occasion of the 28th Rajab
 'Yaum Saqoot e Khilafat'

Respected Members of the Assembly,

Assalamo Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuhu,

We address you to remind you that today the 28th Rajab 1342 was the 'Fall of the Khilafah.'

And we address you to remind you of your duty to re-establish the 'Khilafah on the way of Prophethood.'
                                                  
The 28th of Rajab 1342 AH is a date forgotten in history, it is when the Kuffar came openly to voice their hostility towards Islam and the Muslims.  Thereafter, we witnessed what was really concealed in their hearts and not just what was uttered by their mouths. The Kuffar had manifest their deep rooted enmity periodically, sometimes through their military crusades and sometimes through their social, political, intellectual, and economic programmes. Lord Curzon, the British Foreign Minister summarised the Kuffar's attitude to the fall of the Khilafah in an address to the British Parliament: 'The point at issue is that Turkey has been destroyed and shall never rise again, because we have destroyed her spiritual power: the Caliphate and Islam.'

This indeed was a black day in our history, a day when the Imam of the Muslims seized to exist, a day when the Muslims became orphans, with no protector to protect them from the onslaught of the kuffar. Rasulallah (SAW)

The Imam is a shield ………….

And indeed after this day, when the shield was no more, we saw the Kuffar fall upon the Muslim Ummah like animals fall upon their prey.  They tore the Muslim body into more than fifty pieces and over each one they appointed a treacherous agent that was obedient and collaborated in every excess against the Muslims as a service to their colonial master. Today, we are witnessing the suffering of the Muslims the world over, whether it is the aggression of the Israeli war machine against the innocent in Lebanon and Palestine, the illegal and savage occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan by the Americans, the massacre of Muslims en masse in Chechnya by the Russians, or the brutal killing of Kashmiri Muslim's by the Hindu's.

The fall of the Khilafah was an occasion for which the Muslims of the sub continent became restless, an occasion when the Muslim women of the sub-continent gave their jewellery as a gift to Mustafa Kemal to deter him from abolishing the Khilafah. This was a time when the Ulema and notables sent delegation after delegation pleading with Mustafa Kemal to abandon his idea of abolishing the Khilafah - but to no avail.   This was a time when the Muslims and even the Hindu's were mobilised in declaring their support for the Khilafah in the sub continent, a time when for the first time the honourable Muslim woman came out in large numbers to voice her support for the Khilafah.

On this day the Khalifah was sent into exile, the Khilafah was annulled and in its place Secular Turkey was created, this is the day that Islam seized to exist in the shape of ruling as the Khilafah system is the only system of ruling recognized in Islam.
The head of the new secular state Mustafa Kemal then went about removing Islam in every aspect of life.  He banned the Hijab and forced the honourable Muslim women to don the Western dress.  He announced that the Adhan be called in Turkish instead of Arabic the language of the Qur'an. He demanded that the Muslims stop calling their Rab Allah because this was an Arabic word and instructed that they call him Tanri and instead of Allah Akhbar they shout Tanri Uludur.  Thereafter, Kemal's secular republic was paraded as a model for the Muslims worldwide and other Muslim nations started to emulate its systems and form of government, to the point that Islam came to be blamed for the backwardness of the Muslims before! 

The fall of the Khilafah marked a black period in the history of the world also, as only fifteen years after its fall the world witnessed the bloodiest and most destructive war known to man.  Today, we see a world where there is instability due to the Capitalist Colonialist States vying for their own interests, where no continent has been spared. We see a world impoverished due to Capitalism of the Colonialist States, where hunger and starvation is widespread, because of the domination of the worlds resources by the Western Capitalist nations.  We see a world where injustice prevails and the rights of man are violated with no one answerable.  We see a world dominated by evil and wicked men where they know no excess, and where every excess has been committed.  This was the result of the removal of the shade of Allah on Earth - the Khilafah.

Indeed when one glances back into the period when the Khilafah existed one sees a period when world polity was dominated by the Muslims as a period of security despite the deliberate distortions of the western historians. One witnesses periods when there were no recipients of Zakah due to the Economic System in Islam encouraging the distribution of wealth.  One witnesses a period of humility and decency due to the Social System in Islam.  One witnesses a period of justice and fairplay where the ruler is accountable before the law as everyone else, due to the Judicial System in Islam and one witnesses the Khilafah as the centre of technological advancement and enlightenment due to the Education System in Islam.  This was our Khilafah, this was our system, this was our history and this was our culture.  Indeed the Khilafah was that beacon of light that had been shining for more than a Millennia. It was the state that had brought mankind out from the darkness of Kufr into the light of Islam, until its destruction at the hands of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, may Allah curse him.   

Oh Members of the National Assembly

The tide has turned full circle, we are witnessing a time of change when the Muslims are rejecting the Western inspired man made systems that have been imposed upon her.  She is now in wait of the coming Khilafah as mentioned in a hadith narrated by Imam Ahmed in his Musnad.

……..'and then will return the Khilafah on the way of the Prophethood'

Indeed the Khilafah is the topic of discussion in Western Capitals, with their leaders now forced to openly talk about the issue of Khilafah in their public addresses.  Moreso, their think tanks have been conducting research into the matter of the Khilafah and those calling for it.

With all this in mind, we call upon the members of the National Assembly to take stock of the situation and realize the situation in the world has changed, the light of Islam is on the horizon and closer than what some may think.  Surely, those vested with responsibility have a greater burden and hence should be at the forefront of the work for the re-.establishment of the Khilafah, because with or without them the prophecy of our Noble Messenger will be fulfilled.  Surely one wants to be in the camp of righteousness and not wickedness, the decision is obvious but yours to make.
